Potting Workshop with Nick Storrs

Come join us for a fun and informative potting workshop with local vegetable farmer Nick Storrs from Home Grown Nursery!

No need to bring pots or plants, everything will be provided by Nick!

Home Grown Nursery grows in the propagation sheds at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, New York. The Lyndhurst estate is home to what was once the the largest private greenhouse in America at the estate of Jay Gould. Located just behind the Gould Greenhouse are the propagation sheds housing our transplants. The propagation sheds are a beautiful example of a late 1880's Lord and Burnham greenhouse.   

During this potting workshop, you will learn the proper way to transfer a few herbs into a larger container. Kids will be taught how to plant seeds that sprout quickly, such as beans, peas, and radishes! Come out and enjoy the fresh air while you learn the best practices for planting!

These tickets do not include access to the Mansion.

Grounds Passes for Rose Weekend are required to enter the property.

Check in at the Welcome Center half an hour before the time on your ticket, this will allow time to walk to the event. This event will be held at the Greenhouse near the potting shed.

Come prepared to be outdoors! Bring a sun hat, water bottle, and/or sunscreen. You may be out in the sun for a period of time!

This event is rain or shine! If it rains, the event will be held in the tent at the Welcome Center.
