Lecture Schedule:
2:00 pm- Lyndhurst Executive Director Howard Zarr Introduction
2:10 pm- Presenter Bob Shaw will discuss how with historical accuracy, he transformed Lynhurst into an opulent Gilded Age Mansion seen by millions of viewers on Netflix.
3:00 pm- Presenter and Award winning architect Phillip Dodd is recognized as an international authority on classical and traditional architecture. Mr. Dodd will discuss the five homes featured in his book–An American Renaissance: Beaux-Arts Architecture in New York City; of which Julian Fellowes, the creator of HBO`S The Gilded Age, wrote the foreword. As well as the patrons and architects that designed them, and their influences on the televesion adaptation of the Gilded Age.
4:00 pm- Presenter Gary Lawerence will speak on lost and forgotten Gilded Age mansions of Newport, Rhode Island.
