This evening performance will feature Armenian Contemporary, Folk and Classical music performed on the Santour, the Armenian national instrument, with Piano and Armenian Dhol (Armenian percussion instrument). Armenian santour maestro Sarkis Petrosyan, internationally acclaimed pianist Hamayag Hovanessian with famous vocalists Vazgen Avetyan and Emma Tovmasyan from California. They will perform folk and Classical music which spans the Armenian tradition from the 12th century to the 20th century. The performers were classically trained at the Komitas State Conservatory.

The Santour, similiar to the Romanian cimbalom or the Ukranian cimbali, is a stringed instrument, a hammered dulcimer played with mallets to create a unique range of sound.
