WBCA COMEDY JAM FOR GEORGE 2016

Comedy Jam for George Slated for February 12^th     

Laredo Little Theatre officials have announced details for this year’s WBCA Comedy Jam for George. The hilarious event is scheduled for Friday, February 12^th at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.  Headlining the event this year is Thai Rivera with featured Comics Sonia Treviño and Alex “Kool Aid” Ansel.

Thai Rivera is an Arizona native who has taken the comedy scene by storm. He is a winner of “Funniest in Arizona” and has been named a “Las Vegas Comedy Festival Rising Star.” He was a featured comic on the Jo Koy Comedy Tour and has been featured on MTV, Comedy Central’s Live At Gotham, and The Logo Network’s One Night Stand up.

Sonia Treviño is a single mom who took to comedy back in 2010. She is a winner of Funnies in South Texas and a finalist of Funnies in Texas. While Treviño was getting her start, Alex “Kool Aid” Ansel was earning the title of youngest comedian to win “Funniest Person in South Texas.” Alex has appeared on CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates in his hometown of San Antonio. Alex has performed across the country and has won RAWartists "Performer of the Year" in San Antonio.

All shows will be at the Laredo Little Theatre at 4802 Thomas Avenue.

The Laredo Little Theatre’s Mission Statement is to preserve, develop and promote the arts and culture in Laredo and the surrounding communities. The scope of the theatre’s programming varies in each of the following: theatre arts, dance, and music.  For over 10 years L.L.T. has produced “Comedy Jams” with local and out of town talent. During this same period, L.L.T. gave birth to their “Jam for George,” organization that stages rock concerts in cooperation with, and under, the banner of the local George Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association. L.L.T. s’ Jam for George has hosted well-attended concerts featuring the famed rock groups, Blue Oyster Cult, Jefferson Starship and Cheap Trick.
