L.A. Comic Con is Los Angeles’ first multi-media fandom convention. It assembles the most exciting and innovative comics, video games, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and all things pop culture. The event’s unique panels, autograph sessions, and photo-ops give fans once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to truly interact with their favorite creators and major players in the entertainment industry.
For the 2017 event, the L.A. Comic Con team was interested in trying new marketing campaigns to increase ticket sales and spread event awareness. With their recent rebrand and a very busy schedule, the team required a partner whose expertise reached beyond event ticketing and technology, and into digital marketing.
L.A. Comic Con’s team partnered with the ShowClix Marketing Services team to create and execute a Facebook advertising strategy that captured a new audience and re-engaged an audience who was already familiar with the event. ShowClix developed and ran highly targeted ads to a new, qualified audience by utilizing detailed affinity and interest targeting. In conjunction, the ShowClix team also ran a remarketing campaign that targeted attendees from the previous year who hadn’t bought a ticket to the upcoming con.
We’ve truly enjoyed working with the Marketing Services team at ShowClix. They really got into the minds of our attendees to come up with a targeting strategy that yielded high results and increased our bottom line. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results!
