Cuban Pianist Yan Carlos Artime in Concert
Yan Carlos Artime - producer of Paoli Mejías' 2005 Latin Grammy nominee album "Mi Tambor", pianist founder of "Otra Invasion" - a group led by ex-Irakere flutist Orlando "Maracas"Valle, musician and collaborator with Pedro Guzmán (Jíbaro Jazz), Danny Rivera, Glenn Monroig, Batacumbele, Paoli Mejías, Ramón Vázquez, Cheo Feliciano among many others - returns PAUSA art house! Artime was born in Havana, Cuba in 1971. After completing 11 years of musical studies he graduated from the Havana Music Conservatory Amadeo Roldán. He began his career as a professional violinist and teacher at the Matanzas Symphony Orchestra. It was at the 1993 Havana International Plaza Jazz Festival where Yan Carlos began his ever claiming career as a jazz pianist. Yan Carlos has toured around numerous international Jazz Festivals like Switzerland Montreux Jazz Festival, Paris Lavillett Jazz Festival, Italy, Chicago Jazz Festival (Batacumbele), Heineken Jazz Festival, Curacao (Pedro Guzmán & Jíbaro Jazz), VI Festival de Jazz República Dominicana(Ramón Vázquez Cuartet), Festival Internacional FITA Maracay(Paoli Mejías Quintet) Festival Di Cuba Piazza Giorginig and the Django Reinhard Festival in France. Other apperances include Club Morning, Club Hot Brass, Club Java, Club Chateau Lacour, Sala Le Bijou Toulousse in France, Sala L’Antiroville Montpellier Francia, Placa Co Prindeps Andorra, Triple Door and Seattle Washington.He also collaborated as a music producer with David Allan Rivera "Sentiment in Color", Danny Rivera,“Te regalo una rosa” and his very first production as a soloist “Recuerdos que lleva el viento”. Yan Carlos Artime resides in Miami, Florida where he continues to perform as a jazz / Latin pianist and producing new works for new and established musicians.
