WINTER BLOCK PARTY X: THIS IS CHICAGO

Don’t call it a comeback, Winter Block Party has been here for ten years! Join WBEZ, Vocalo and Young Chicago Authors (YCA) for the tenth annual Winter Block Party. An all-ages, all day festival celebrating hip-hop and community through dancing, live music, DJ’s, poetry, facepainting, a pop-up barber shop and more! The event is free and features a live broadcast from WBEZ’s sister station, Vocalo.

This year’s theme, Winter Block Party X: This Is Chicago celebrates hip hop’s ability to connect people across generations and highlights the multifaceted culture of Chicago hip hop through a variety of media - dance, poetry, music and live art. Starting at noon at Metro and Smartbar, guests can participate in hands-on activities and enjoy live performances from local artists, MC Battles and more.
