Event Description

In the late 1980s/early 1990s, at the height of the pandemic, an AIDS diagnosis was a death sentence. Except for some, whom for whatever reason have been living with HIV for more than 20 or 30 years. We know the role cannabis played in alleviating pain and other ailments for victims who suffered and eventually died from HIV/AIDS. But cannabis’ role in the health and happiness of long-term HIV survivors is less known. In commemoration of LGBT History Month, Weedmaps and the Weedmaps Museum of Weed, in partnership with Equality California will host a panel discussion exploring the cannabis connection to long-term HIV survivorship, as well as other ways that cannabis is a current and critical part of LGBTQ health and self care.
