WBEZ’s Podcast Passport presents The Sporkful live in Chicago! Join us on April 6th for a live performance of the nation's #1 food podcast, The Sporkful, with host and James Beard Award-winner, Dan Pashman. This event will include great talk about food and feature special guest Nate Marshall, Chicago writer and educator. 


The Sporkful, powered by Stitcher, is known for its thoughtful discussions about race, culture, and body image, as well as funny and absurd conversations with comics about how they like to eat certain dishes. Having won the Best Food Podcast at the James Beard Awards, the Webby Awards, and the Saveur Awards, former podcast guests have included Alton Brown, Roy Wood Jr., Rachel Maddow, Weird Al Yankovic, Padma Lakshmi and many more.

Dan Pashman
Dan Pashman is the James Beard Award-winning creator and host of The Sporkful food podcast at Stitcher and Cooking Channel's web series You're Eating It Wrong. He's also the author of Eat More Better: How to Make Every Bite More Delicious (Simon & Schuster).


Dan's audio work has been featured on RadiolabPlanet MoneyFreakonomicsMorning Edition, and more. He's also a regular guest on WTF with Marc Maron. On TV Dan has appeared on the Today ShowGuy's Grocery GamesBeat Bobby FlayDr. OzThe Chew, and more.


Nate Marshall 
Nate Marshall is a writer, rapper, and educator from the South Side of Chicago. He is the author of Wild Hundreds (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2015) and an editor of The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop (Haymarket Books, 2015). . He is the Assistant Director of Wabash College’s Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies where he also serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Black Studies. His next book, FINNA, is forthcoming in 2020 from One World/Random House.
