A Vet, an Imam and a Preacher walk into a bar… so begins the latest ShortBurst® theatre piece from Repertory Actors’ Workshop (RAW) Theatre Company at Santa Monica Playhouse.
At once intense, insightful, humorous, and at least a little disturbing, this original piece of theatre, crafted and created by RAW company members Martin Cohen, Bob Hucul, Berkeley Sanjay and Linda Kohn, and directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Chris DeCarlo, explores the intricacies of on-the-edge behavior and the intimacies of over-the-edge relationships, leaving no stone unturned and no icon unharried. From passion to politics, homelessness to healing, religion to relationships, from a battle of wills to the battles of the flesh, it’s an evening of theatre you won’t soon forget.
