The annual celebration of Queer revelry, spearheaded by notorious Portland bisexual, VIVA the Sensation, returns June 21st with an all new lineup of incredible artists. This year’s party commemorates the release of “Goddess,” VIVA’s debut single, available for preorder until June 15th, when the song will be available across all platforms. 

VIVA The Sensation will take the stage with an electrifying set of edm pop songs, backed by accomplished Flow Artists from THEM Burlesque and Curbside Queens entertainment companies. This group has performed for ecstatic audiences at Pride festivals, concert halls,  for performing arts organizations, and community events at Bowery Presents venues. It is a visually arresting show with pulsing rhythms and soaring vocals over a “pristine mix of genres and styles… the ‘untamed girl’ perspective in the lyrics is inspiring,” as radio host SPARRO\^/HAWK described in a recent review. 

VIVA is not just a singer backed by dancers, but an accomplished performer, unafraid to use the whole stage and express the music with her own dance and theatre training. The show has moments of humor, of poignancy, and a transportive aesthetic that audiences always remember.

Opening acts Rosie Borden and Ciel Roi are among the several shining participants of Dicsothique 2024, alongside sexy local drag kings Papi K and Finn Gerring, and flawless femmes Brit Martin and Gigi Gabor.

Rosie Borden writes confessional pop anthems for the broken-hearted, the anxious-attached, the punishers and the puritans alike. Often touted as “Portland’s Worst Kept Secret,” Rosie weaves webs of catchy melodies and sticky turns of phrase, giggling mischievously as she watches you get all tangled. Ciel Roi has a heartbreakingly beautiful voice that would fit right in on Broadway or America’s Got Talent, with a complex take on the pop genre in his original compositions. Ciel Roi (Jacob Tyler Michaud) debuted in 2018 with his album Prometheia, a pop/rock infused album about heartbreak and recovery, set to the backdrop of the Prometheus myth. 

Now, CIEL x AZZARATTA is a project combining his pop writing sensibilities with the experimental production of Frankie Azzaratta. With Discothique, Michaud and Azzaratta are sharing new works as they build towards their upcoming EP release, aimed for release in early Winter 2024.
