Event Description

This summer, the Museum offers four creative
engagement virtual art camp experiences!

Each camp digs deep into one of four specific
disciplines – drawing, painting, collage and sculpture.
During the week, the art campers will engage with the
medium creatively and explore various ways to approach
artmaking using experimentation. These camps will provide
the opportunity for young artists to pursue their own interests
and subjects within each media with an open-ended approach
that will yield diverse results specific to each artist!

Please note: Attendance on all four days is necessary for a
complete experience. Due to the exploratory nature and
likely spontaneous results, video recordings will not be a
provided to class participants. However the sessions will be
recorded to monitor the class experience. Please see below
for more information.

Advance registration is required.

Registration Deadline for all camps is Monday, May 31
Kits will be available for pick up or will be mailed out
approximately one week prior to class.

Please note that for documentation purposes, the Museum will record the Virtual Summer Art Camps via Zoom and that your child’s image, voice and/or likeness may be captured on the recording. When registering for the camp, you will be asked to acknowledge your understanding of the fact that the camp will be recorded. If you are concerned with having your child’s image, voice and/or likeness captured, you may still participate in the class with your video and audio functionality turned off on your computer or other device. It will be your responsibility to turn off your video and to mute your audio using the controls of these options, which Zoom provides. You will still be able to view the instruction given by our Studio Programs Coordinator via Zoom, but the Studio Programs Coordinator and the other class participants will not be able to see or hear you. Even with video and audio functionality turned off, you could plan to use the chat functionality and/or the reactions functionality to participate by typing a question in the chat area or by giving a thumbs up reaction. If you have questions, please send an email to info@thewestmoreland.org, and a Museum staff member will respond.
