Upstairs Downstairs and EDGAR DEGAS

This acclaimed tour offers a behind the scenes view of what life was like for the aristocrats who stayed at the Hotel Alcazar and the staff who served them during the Gilded Age. Immerse yourself in the history of the museum’s building, the former Hotel Alcazar, as the tour winds its way through spaces not typically seen by the general public. General admission to the Museum is included.

Groups will also receive admission to Lightner’s spring exhibit, Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist – Works on Paper by the Artist and His Circle (April 12 – June 16, 2019).

Tours are limited to 10 people per group (larger groups will be separated). Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your tour to allow time to check in. Please allow a minimum of 2½ hours in the Museum to include the Upstairs Downstairs Tour, visiting the Degas exhibit, and viewing the rest of the museum. The tour by itself is one hour long. Visitors must be able to use the elevator and stand and walk for periods of time. 

The Edgar Degas exhibit and Ballroom Gallery close at 4:30 p.m.
