TerraVita loves to celebrate the culinary professionals who play well with fire, and this year’s dinner is all about our region’s strong ties to barbecue. And for dessert? The beloved pies that are distinctly Southern.
Chefs, pitmasters, brewers, distillers, farmers, and bakers – the best from across the Southeast – will join forces to present a fantastic dinner under the moonlight.
The VIP experience (beginning at 4:45) includes early access to working pitmasters and chefs - with a behind-the-scenes look at how they do what they do. Then, take in a mini cocktail social and experience special sips from Sean Umstead of Kingfisher in Durham before the Pigs & Pies dinner kicks off. In addition to Umstead slinging cocktails, James Creek Cider House will be serving their ciders and other beverage producers will be announced in the coming weeks. Our 2019 chef line up includes:
- Justin Burdett of Crook’s Corner in Chapel Hill, NC
- Wyatt Dickson of Picnic in Durham, NC
- Teddy Diggs of Coronato in Carrboro, NC
- Norma Kessler of Sweet Arielle Bakery in Durham, NC
- Sam Jones of Sam Jones BBQ in Winterville, NC
- Ricky Moore of Saltbox Seafood Joint in Durham, NC
- Matthew Register of Southern Smoke BBQ in Garland, NC
- Ali Rudel of East Durham Bake Shop in Durham, NC
- Chris Prieto of Prime Barbecue in Knightdale, NC
- Jake Wood of Plates Kitchen in Raleigh, NC
