On Friday, October 23 at 7 PM, the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum will host a digital program via Zoom as part of the Museum's Fall Theme Fridays! The suggested donation for this program is $5.
Today’s modern-day amusement parks can trace their roots back to simple picnic groves and recreational parks that were owned and operated by local transportation companies, from steam-powered railroads to electric streetcar lines. Western Pennsylvania was once home to numerous trolley parks that are now lost to memory and newspaper archives. Author Jennifer Sopko will share images and the history of forgotten trolley parks as part of her research for her forthcoming book on lost Western Pennsylvania amusement parks.
A Question & Answer session will follow the program.
For the best experience, we recommend downloading Zoom in advance.
