Event Description

***Please note: we have TWO performances (one on Thursday, November 16th at 7pm, and one on Sunday, November 19th at 7pm), both at Curious Comedy Mainstage. Doors open at 6:30pm for each 7pm performance.

IN REGARDS TO PAYMENT OPTIONS:

We understand that not everyone can afford to buy a ticket. We want this show to be accessible to as many folks as possible. The $0 tickets, our Accessible Option, are prioritized for Trans and/or BIPOC. All ticket money is used to pay for the cost of renting Curious Comedy and to compensate the all-trans cast and crew, so please choose the payment tier that is accessible to you while recognizing the amount of labor the entire cast and crew of trans folks have put in to make this show possible.

ABOUT OUR SHOW:

Join us for an evening of trans-galactic glamour as we travel through the depths of outer space! Come to the cabaret and enjoy some food and beverages as our ensemble cast serenades you and entertains you with thirteen unique acts— featuring a combination of live instrumental work, hand-crafted puppetry, original music, alien drag, and more! Our repertoire includes a range of genres and artists: from Sondheim, to My Chemical Romance, to the Muppets... Our show is all about connecting our individual experiences as trans folks with the (relatable!) things we imagine we'd feel if we could traverse outer space: alienation, exhaustion, homesickness, discovery, rebirth, belonging, freedom, and joy beyond our wildest dreams...

ABOUT THE TVC:

The Trans Voices Cabaret (TVC) is a theatrical cabaret show wherein a company of trans artists perform a variety of solo and ensemble pieces. Originally created in New York City by transgender actor/performer Donnie Cianciotto in 2017, the TVC has since been produced in Chicago, London, Los Angeles, and Portland! Trans Voices Cabaret's mission: "to raise the visibility of trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming performers, to build relationships and foster communities with casting directors and theatre companies, and to highlight the talents of marginalized performers who are often overlooked by the entertainment industry." The goal of the Portland TVC is to create a fun, supportive, community-oriented environment in which trans artists can express themselves creatively, bask in each others' light, and spark new connections.
