Event Description

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, join us for a town hall exploring the intersections of art, disability, and labor, organized in partnership with Art Beyond Sight and the Fair Share Task Force as part of the For Freedoms 50 State Initiative. For Freedoms builds on existing networks of artists and institutions in the United States, producing nationwide public art installations, exhibitions, and local community dialogues in order to inject nuanced, artistic thinking into public discourse in the lead-up to the midterm elections.

  • 2–3 pm Conversation: Disability, art, and activism with disability and policy advocate Andy Arias; artist Shannon Finnegan; Kevin Gotkin, co-director, Disability/Arts/NYC; and artist and educator Jeff Kasper

  • 3–3:30 pm Presentation: Ezra Benus, artist and coordinator, Art & Disability Residency, Art Beyond Sight, presents work by artists participating in the residency, including Jordana Bernstein, Kevin Quiles Bonilla, Shannon Finnegan, Jerron Herman, Jeff Kasper, Marissa Perel, Anthony Ptak, Gordon Sasaki, and Madison Zalopany
