Genzken’s most recent film, which premiered in Berlin last year, is a collaboration with Althoff, constructed as a series of scenes that feature both artists as various characters, from prostitutes to police to babies. Shot on location in Berlin, Cologne, and New York, it’s a comedic picaresque that plays on the clichés of the buddy movie, and an absurd but moving tribute to the bond of friendship between kindred souls. 71 min.
