Trop Rockers Mark Mulligan and Sunny Jim White return to the Chief Theater for a very special show. This time, they’re bringing their compatriot, Kelly McGuire for a delightful evening of tropical tunes about beaches, boats and bars. 

Mark Mulligan is from San Carlos, Mexico and has been performing and recording music south of the border ever since he “Just came down for the weekend/ 25 years ago”. Sunny Jim White now resides in Sarasota, Florida after living, performing, and recording in the Cayman Islands for 12 years. On his last visit to Steamboat, he made a guest appearance with the Chief Players in “The Secret of Yonder Mountain” singing “Rum Shoes”.  Kelly McGuire lives in Clear Lake, Texas, near Galveston Bay and has been performing his special brand of tropical tunes for over 20 years. He suggests that “Truth and compassion would become a new fashion” in his song, “Woman Behind the Wheel”.

   Individually, these three play concerts and festivals throughout North America and the Caribbean. Their singing, music, lyrics and story telling make evenings with them a special treat.  Frequently, they pair up for special shows. For very special shows, audiences get the thrill of seeing all three of them perform together. Their songs span the gamut of tropical themes, the perfect musical complement to a lazy, summer day at the cozy Chief Theater. Don’t forget your rum shoes!
