Following on from the success of their 2015 album ‘Deep End’, the seven young singers that make up today’s UK-based group celebrate a particularly poignant year in their history with the release of a new collection of holiday and winter-themed pieces, “Yule Songs Vol. II,” and a tour that takes in Italy, the US and Russia … including their Westchester debut at the Pelham PictureHouse!

The Swingle Singers of the 1960s won five Grammys® and collaborated with musical icons the Modern Jazz Quartet and Luciano Berio. For many, their agile interpretations of Bach redefined what singing could be. On their current material, the modern Swingles (this is a group whose cast revolves through the years) start a fresh chapter, ironically by reclaiming the essence of the original ensemble. Since the passing of founder Ward Swingle in January, the group has exhibited the innovation he inspired - and that has made them a unique pop-culture phenom over the past half-century - on ‘Deep End’ and now the timeless ‘Yule Songs Vol. II.’ The results are a return, after 5 decades, to the vanguard of vocal music at a time when a cappella has never been so popular.

The Swingles use their voices to conjure imaginative worlds, not least on the new album’s original winter songs, including “The Thaw," featuring a stellar collaboration with American jazz legend Kurt Elling. The release also features traditional classics alongside the bold originals, and the concert will be a thrilling mix of old and new repertoire, Christmas and secular material.

Their voices have created atmosphere on numerous TV and film soundtracks including Sex And The City, Glee, Milk, Grey’s Anatomy and Wedding Crashers and now The Swingles will score the holidays with music as unique and captivating as ever.
