The Shadows Bio
The Shadows band was formed in the early 1990’s by Paul Campanella to back up “Buffalo Queen of Soul” the late Barbara St Clair. In the mid-1990s, Bob Falk (guitar, vocals) Ron Davis (keyboards, vocals) and Chris Haug (bass) joined the band and have remained ever since. Chris Haug took over leadership of the group in the early 2000s when Paul left to pursue his career in Las Vegas. The Alumni of the band include many of Buffalo’s finest musicians.
The band enjoyed decades of success performing with Barbara St Clair at night clubs, parties, weddings, corporate functions, special events and concerts throughout WNY until her passing in 2013.
As Barb, would have wanted, the band played on, performing as a well-seasoned rhythm section with excellent vocals. The Shadows did some gigs with guest vocalists including John Culleton Mahoney and then in 2015 teamed up with DeeAnn Dimeo Tompkins. DeeAnn’s versatility and vocal ability allowed the band to branch off in some different directions. She brought a special ingredient to the band and was sorely missed as her career took a turn when offered her other opportunities in the Summer of 2016.
Fast forward to January 2017 ….and we are happy to announce the addition of Terrie George! Terrie will make her debut with the Shadows Sunday April 9th at the Sportsmens Tavern.
Terrie George has been a part of the Buffalo music scene since 1978 and has just recently returned to the stage after an eight-year hiatus.
Her powerful vocals, incredible range, tasteful phrasing and inviting stage presence have repeatedly pleased audiences and has gained her the respect of the best musicians Buffalo has to offer. Although her career began in the Top 40 clubs around town she has made it known that she could be equally convincing singing standards, country, bluegrass, R&B, blues and rock.
Terrie’s versatility has also allowed her opportunity to perform with Lawrence Welk, open for Pat Benatar, REO Speed Wagon and Fleetwood Mac, share the stage with Alabama and gig with Elliott Randall of Steely Dan fame.
“In the late 1970’s, Terrie often graced the stage of The Bowery. “Alabama,” yet to achieve mega-stardom, was making its bones as the house band, and if Terrie was in the house, the band always asked her to come up and “sing one.” Terrie’s talent and natural stage presence made her a crowd favorite……….”Victor Shamah, Owner - The Bowery, Myrtle beach, SC
The Shadows are: Terrie George (vocals), Peter Holguin (drums and vocals), Bob Falk (guitar and vocals), Ron Davis (keyboards and vocals) Chris Haug (bass)
