“The Emperor’s Nightingale” - Youth Theatre

The gong sounds and we are magically engaged in the quest for The Emperor’s Nightingale, a lively adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen classic.  The Emperor, saddened by the loss of his only child, has become weak and bitter.  Only Kang, his chief servant, can console him.  However, his cousin, the evil Lord Chamberlain, and his wife, Lady Ming, plot to destroy him.  How could they know the beautiful song of the Nightingale and the tender heart of a lowly kitchen maid could help the Emperor make a new start?
