The American Dream

This fall 2024 group is inquiring about the American Dream (and the lies we’ve been told) in their research & writing process. What do we want for ourselves? Who can afford the dream we are told to aspire to? Who’s land was taken away in the process? Is violence really the answer?

Join us Dec 13-14 for their live presentation and a call to action about the land we live on and the dreams we seek.

CALL TO ACTION: 

HartBeat Ensemble’s Youth Play Institute is collecting new and gently used items for “A Hand Up” a program of Journey Home, a non profit organization that provides used furniture and household items to people moving out of homelessness and into housing. Collection Dates: December 8-14, 2024

Drop Off Locations:

• Carriage House Theater, 360 Farmington Ave Hartford


• Semilla Cafe, 1283 Main St Hartford

Current Needs:

• Comforters/blankets


• New pillows


• Towels (bath towels, hand towels, washcloths)


• Toasters


• Coffee makers


• Bath mats

Running Time: 50 minutes
