Event Description

The Westmoreland Museum of American is proud to host the
Smithsonian American Art Museum’s traveling exhibition,
African American Art in the 20th Century opening February 16.
We invite all regional teachers K-12 and administrators to
the Museum to learn how to teach African American history
with art. A special emphasis will be placed on Pennsylvania’s
Black history.

This three-hour ACT 48 workshop will include a historical
presentation and opportunities to apply these learnings back
to classroom practice. Teachers will each receive a packet with
images and information on the artists in the exhibition.
