Join WBEZ Chicago on October 20 for a special conversation with Susan Rice, former National Security Advisor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Fresh off the release of her book Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For, Ambassador Rice comes to Chicago for a candid discussion about her life as a mother, wife, scholar, diplomat, and champion of American interests and values.

Ambassador Rice currently serves as Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow at the School of International Service at American University, a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times. She previously served as National Security Advisor to President Barack Obama from 2013- 2017 and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 2009 to 2013.

This event will be moderated by Lakshmi Singh, midday newscaster and guest host for NPR. During the moderated discussion attendees will receive an insider’s account of some of the most complex security issues confronting the United States and have an opportunity to ask questions during an audience Q&A. All tickets include a hardcover copy of Ambassador Rice’s new book Tough Love where Ambassador Rice powerfully connects the personal and the professional. Tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable.
