Event Description

Throughout its existence the art of photography has been linked to western technological growth and industrialization. What better place to explore your own photographic vision than The Carrie Furnaces National Historic Landmark.  The Carrie Furnaces were the heart and soul of U.S. Steel’s Homestead Works during most of the twentieth century and remain the only examples of pre-World War II furnace technology in existence today.

Join Rivers of Steel Arts at dusk for unique photo safaris that explore the Carrie Furnaces in twilight. Witness the beauty and subtlety of the site as only seen through half light and capture your own piece of the drama to take home.  This safari is recommended for those with prior experience shooting low-light subject matter but open to both novice and experienced photographers alike.  Attendees can expect  an “open” shooting experience with very little interruption, guidance or interference.  For workshops that offer in-depth instruction please consider our Iron Imagery workshops or Guided Workshops & Excursions.

Access will be limited to area deemed safe by Rivers of Steel.

Cost:  $30

Dates:  June 24, 2018 (7:00 PM - 9:30 PM)

           September 9, 2018 (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
