Such Sweet Thunder

Natalie’s presents a special night of music with the return of Such Sweet Thunder, featuring some of the Midwest’s finest jazz musicians paying loving tribute to the music of Duke Ellington and his musical partner Billy Strayhorn. We will also celebrate the end of the birthday centennial of Charles Mingus by showcasing his music and our bassist, Dean Hulett. This project is a labor of love sparked by Ryan Hamilton and Tony Gayle McClung, and brought to life by the fantastic musicians they’ve lined up. The band consists of Michael Cox (alto saxophone, clarinet), Bryan Olsheski (tenor saxophone, clarinet), Mark Donavan (baritone saxophone, clarinet), Jim Powell (trumpet), Ryan Hamilton (trombone, arrangements), Lucas Holmes (piano), Dean Hulett (bass), and Tony Gayle McClung (drums, banjo).
