After retiring from the ever-crowded pit of rock photographers, a sixteen year old Steven King climbed onto the stage and into the frame with his pockets full of Prine-esque witticism and a confidence to experiment. King found his home in Columbus, Ohio after an early career carved out of the road. With influences ranging from folk and blues, to glam rock, to synth pop tribulations, and his willingness to struggle with both new and old sounds ‘til they are his own, Steven King has poised himself for the lifelong journey of storytelling and exploration. From the glam-rock inspired Tamerak; to the lonesome highway-man sound of Shakin’ in My Boots; on through the cleansing bounces and drags of What We Needed; the entirely self-made thrust, Earth Hurts; and graduating to the folk, big-band orchestration, Steven King On Ice. His appeal to make the sound of every effort different from the last, every live performance brand new to both the album listeners and his regulars, exemplifies his readiness to keep moving. However he dresses his songs, they retain that feeling of a singer-songwriter sitting across the room playing you something that goes like this...

He is joined by local recording engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Maddy Ciampa. Maddy is a member of the widely-acclaimed band WYD, and along with producing and engineering for their releases, she has worked with numerous regional artists including The Cordial Sins, Steven King, and more. Maddy has lent her talents to several projects with Grammy award-winning engineer Boo Mitchell at Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, where she's honed her skills as a creator and collaborator, and cultivated a style all her own. She is also an adjunct Instructor of Music and Production Industries at Ohio University School of Media Arts and Studies.
