The Steel City Codefest is a city-wide app building event that brings together coders, designers, and innovation enthusiasts to create apps for local government, citizens, and community organizations. Participants form teams, tackle challenges and compete for prizes. Codefest 4.0 will allow teams to use their creativity to develop and build innovative apps. Teams will have the option to build their own ideas or to select one of the challenges that will be presented by local nonprofit organization or government agency.
The event will take place over a week period. The event kicks-off on April 2nd with the presentation of event challenges.
Participants work remotely during the week but are encouraged to attend the three work night sessions. The event culminates on April 9th at the Carnegie Library in Oakland with the presentation of the apps and judging. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories.
Registration is free but spots are limited. Only register for the number of slots you plan to use.
This registration is ONLY for those participating in the main Codefest (a.k.a doing app development). Youth interested in Codefest Jr., the educational component of Codefest, do not need to register.
