The group Star People began at Pausa as an ensemble dedicated to performing music from Miles Davis’ extensive catalog. They’re known for electrifying and exhilarating performances that feature tight arrangements and exploratory improvisations. The music, musicians and audience at Pausa create a synergy that makes Star People performances an unparalleled musical experience. The group’s current repertoire includes music from all of the musicians within Miles’ sphere including Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and others. Star People is composed of some of the Western New York area’s finest jazz musicians including Bobby Militello (saxophone and flute) veteran of the Maynard Ferguson and Dave Brubeck bands . Tim Clarke the area’s most versatile trumpet player, Andy Weinzler a powerhouse of the tenor saxophone, creative double bassist Joe Goehle and multi-award winning drummer John Bacon complete the ensemble.Every time this group performs they create a unique and exhilarating one time event.
