Many of you are quite familiar with Steamboat’s own Katie Ross. Now she performs as Kathleen. She wowed her high school classmates by writing a special song for their graduation. In 2016, she was selected from amongst 14,000 applicants for the Grand Prize in the Guitar Center’s Singer Songwriter 5 Competition, which included the right to record with Grammy Award winning producer, Ariel Rechtshaid. In April, 2016, she had a triumphant return to the Chief Theater, where she performed a memorable set of great music. Since then she has relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her career dreams and has now completed her first recording. Welcome back, Kathleen!
Originally from New York City, Gabrielle first came to audience attention in 1996 when she won the Spree National Songwriting Contest as well as taking an honorable mention in the Great American Songwriting Contest. For several years, she toured extensively in the east. She has produced two CD’s, Dreamtown(2000) and “Wide”(2005). Like one of her main influences, Joni Mitchell, Gabrielle is a visual artist, and has alternated her exploration of music with painting and sculpture. Now living in Gilpin County, Colorado, she continues to bridge the worlds of music and visual arts. Besides running her own design business, Insdie Wide, she currently creates and teaches pottery. We are happy to welcome her to the Chief Theater for her debut performance in Steamboat.
