WHAT WE DO:
Sol Dance is an Atlanta based, Ecstatic Dance community dedicated towards embodied exploration and unleashing human-potential through deliciously-deep music & acoustic sound healing.

WHAT HAPPENS ON AN ECSTATIC DANCE FLOOR?
Those who attend are invited into free-form dance/movement inspired by a brief opening meditation and led by carefully curated music with the intention of creating a peak, healing experience.

Because no dance experience is necessary, Ecstatic Dance becomes a perfect outlet for those who think they "can't dance" because they were taught that to "know" how to dance is to move in a certain way.  Additionally, this can be a luscious playground for experienced dancers seeking an open space where they can let loose in the safety of community. All we ask is that everyone honor the collective experience and respect one another.

The main guidelines are that we refrain from speaking on the dance floor, honor the no drugs/substances/alcohol policy, and do not take pictures or video of the dance floor or other participants.

These core guidelines are what keep this & any ecstatic dance floor an intentional, sacred, and safe space for you to be held and supported by to drop deep into the experience.

EVENT:
Music will be on by 4:45 for a brief warm-up period, and there will be live-percussion provided by Metabear & Friends throughout the complete dance experience!

Our Ecstatic Dance journey will be provided by Sol Dance Co-Founder & Resident DJ: Scott Houston

Opening & Closing Circles to be co-facilitated by Maya Lemberg & Scott Houston.

About Scott Houston:
In over a decade of utilizing dance as a healing modality, Scott Houston has come to believe in the inherent wisdom of the body and the power of music to move it. As an accredited 5Rhythms Teacher and seasoned host of Ecstatic Dance – Scott facilitates dances, classes, and workshops all over the world. His offerings are an open path to healing through a communion with the embodied self.

As a talented & proven, Atlanta-based DJ, Scott has had the privilege of vibe-setting for headlining artists such as Acid Pauli, Paco Osuna, Tara Brooks,  Yoko0, Raresh, and others. Scott is also a classically-trained musician of 20+ years, Project B. resident DJ, workshop producer with 5Rhythms Atlanta, and Founder of Sol Dance Open Air Ecstatic Dance Community.

About Maya Lemberg:
Maya's mission is to help people feel at home within their skin. As a psychotherapist, yogi, dancer, singer and ceremonial facilitator, she is dedicated to guiding others on their road to authenticity, integrating mind, heart, body and spirituality in her approach to wellness. 

She specializes in body-focused psychotherapy, art therapy, yoga, dance movement practices, shamanism and women’s rituals and spirituality. She is grateful to facilitate experiences that bring people into intimacy with their hearts and bodies, paving way for  deeper connections with each other, with the Earth and with the present moment.

Maya is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with her private practice, Emerge Psychotherapy and Healing, in Atlanta, GA. Maya is a vocalist and creates medicine songs honoring these sacred times . She is also a trained yoga teacher and integrates yoga into her work with clients. As a life long dancer and performer, Maya believe in the power of dance, music and community to awaken our hearts, transform our bodies and heal the world
