WVU Sierra Club:
The Sierra Club is a student-led organization committed to promoting sustainability and environmental activism within our community. The Sierra Swing is a fundraising event to benefit the Sierra Club as well as the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia!

About Sierra Club:
The Sierra Club is America's largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Inspired by nature, we are more than 3 million of your friends and neighbors, working together to protect our communities and the planet.
--
Founded in 1960, The Sierra Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity governed by an independent board of directors. The Foundation promotes efforts to educate and empower people to protect and improve the natural and human environment.

Our goals are to:
• Solve the climate crisis primarily through a successful transition to a resource-efficient clean energy economy that better serves people and nature;
• Secure protections for public lands and waters, promote healthy ecosystems and communities, and fight for clean air and water;
• Expand opportunities for more people to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet by supporting programs and policies that reach across economic, cultural, and community lines to get people outdoors; and
• Build a diverse, inclusive environmental movement that reflects and represents today’s American public, and prioritizes important connections between environmental health and social justice.

As the fiscal sponsor of the charitable programs of the Sierra Club, we provide resources to it and other nonprofit organizations to support scientific, educational, literary, organizing, advocacy, and legal programs that further our goals.

About Avian Conservation Center:
The ACCA is a 501c3 all-volunteer non-profit organization based in Cheat Lake, WV. We are licensed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to treat and rehabilitate injured, ill, or orphaned wild birds, from eagles to hummingbirds and everything in between. Every injured bird that comes through our door receives an immediate, comprehensive examination by a veterinarian who specializes in treating birds. The birds are then nursed back to health by our caring, well-trained staff of volunteers. If you find an injured wild bird, please contact us!

Additionally, the ACCA participates in and sponsors scientific research projects focusing on wild bird conservation throughout Appalachia and beyond. Check back here often for reports on these efforts.
