The Bach Choir of Pittsburgh continues to move forward through the pandemic into a season of healing and music-making. We begin with a live concert of acapella spirituals arranged by William Dawson, Uprooted. Also included in this concert will be pieces by Harry Burleigh and Thomas W. Douglas. Next, Obsessions will ground us with the famous, recognized opera choruses with a few less-familiar ones thrown in. From rousing to intimate, these choruses will stir and heal the soul. Guest solo artists will complete this evening’s enterprise. Lastly, the season will conclude with a showing of the 1931 black and white film of Boris Karloff’s iconic Frankenstein. This particular showing is simply entitled Monster. These performances have been re-imagined with an R&B, Hip Hop score compiled and created by Thomas W. Douglas and Jaron Crawford.
