MARQUETTE THEATRE’S 2025-2026 SEASON

VIEWPOINTS

This season that we’re calling Viewpoints is a very exciting departure from our traditional season.  We begin with a very different viewing point - a collaboration with Milwaukee’s Skylight Music Theatre in downtown Milwaukee.  Audiences will view Marquette students working in a professional production.  Then it’s back to the Helfaer theatre for two big shows, FAIRVIEW and NOISES OFF.  The first is an edgy comedy about “viewing” (it’s in the title!) and the second is an all-out farce that shifts our point of view from onstage to behind the scenes.  Finally, as we shift our view again, we are dedicating time for our theatre students to work with guest professionals and our partners in the Digital Media program to create a high quality T.V. pilot.

Fiddler on the Roof (a professional collaboration with Skylight Music Theatre)

Performed at the Cabot Theatre in the Broadway Theatre Center, see Marquette students working alongside regional professionals. This beloved musical tells the tale of Tevye, a milkman with five daughters during a time of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

Fairview

The story revolves around preparations for Grandma’s birthday and Beverly is trying to make everything perfect.  But everything seems to be going wrong – and then things get even stranger!  Drury’s script is a dazzling exploration of how we view what we view - and of being viewed.  Winner of the 2019 Pulitzer for Drama, this edgy and unique script is at once funny and compelling.

Noises Off

One of the funniest shows about putting on a show ever. This hilarious romp follows the ridiculous onstage and offstage hijinks of a British theatre company trying to rehearse and perform their production of “Nothing On.”  Doors slam, romantic intrigue is everywhere - and just try to keep track of the sardines!
