Clearly the Spaghetti Western genre is a huge influence on Tarantino’s filmmaking and this film, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, is a great example of those visually daring movies. SABATA pushes the superheroic nature of its protagonist (played by the always magnetic Lee Van Cleef) who – while of course of questionable morals – arrives in a small Texas town to foil a bank robbery using his preternatural marksmanship.
