Award-winning crime writer S.A. Cosby, author of King of Ashes, discusses his buzzy new book at Bronx Library Center.
S.A. Cosby's latest novel, King of Ashes, is a Southern crime story like no other, filled with family drama, heartstopping action, and twists and turns around every corner. In this Godfather-inspired tale, an eldest son comes back into the family fold after his father suffers a car accident. At home in central Virginia, Roman finds his younger brother Dante in debt to dangerous criminals; his sister Neveah struggling to hold the family together; and their father, who runs Carruthers Crematorium with Neveah, deep in a coma after the accident. As he settles back in, Roman quickly realizes that the car accident was no accident—and the family is in serious danger.
Now it's up to Roman to save the family. A numbers whiz, Roman's day job in financial planning comes in handy as he enters the criminal underworld to settle the score. But can he go up against the gangsters and live to tell the tale?
