KIDS IMPROV CLASS

Sundays Noon – 2:30pm

Welcome to our Comedy Playground! Arcade Academy Kids Comedy Classes offer teens and tweens a weekly exploration of improv comedy basic skills, offered as six 2.5-hour classes ages 9 to 18. Perfect for everyone from the aspiring actor, to the class clown, to the thoughtful observer–Kids Comedy Classes are open to all personalities and experience levels! Improvisation isn’t just for future comedians. Kids will gain confidence in navigating challenges, public speaking, critical thinking, and working as a team, all while laughing and playing fun improv games (similar to those seen on TV’s Whose Line Is It Anyway?)

Students will learn the basics of ensemble work, storytelling and agreement, which is best exemplified by the “yes, and” principle of improv comedy.  All exercises used during this class are designed to further your child’s ability to feel comfortable on stage, enhance their social awareness and creative thinking, and give them a boost in their confidence, all while having lots of fun!  Students with previous stage experience will receive more detailed feedback and instruction to hone their skills.  The class will culminate in a show for family and friends on the Arcade stage to show off what they’ve learned and accomplished. No prior improv experience is required.
