ACTING FOR THE IMPROVISER

Acting for Improvisation 101- Make your work as an Improvisor stronger with Acting 101! In this 8-week course, you’ll begin to explore “life on stage.” From building strong objectives and actions to delving into character work. We will use a variety of games for theater that come from the world of improvisation, and working toward scripted scenes for two to three actors. Whether you’ve never been on stage before, or you’re a fierce improviser looking to hone your skills, Acting 101 offers valuable lessons for everyone.

In this 8 week class we will be working on Open Scenes ( simple scripted scenes for two to three actors) then we will devote the remainder of the course on a two or three person scene from contemporary playwrights and we will use improvisational tools to delve further into “Who your character is in the world of the play.”

Arcade Comedy Theater classes are open to adults 18 yrs or older.

Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you sign up for a class and are unable to attend, please contact us in advance and we may be able to switch your enrollment to a different eligible class. Students looking to enroll in advanced classes (102 & higher) must be able to meet the prerequisites.
