Online Sketch Comedy Writing

Learn and practice sketch writing FROM HOME! This four-week online course will cover the fundamentals of sketch writing (to help beginners get started and as a refresher for seasoned writers) and give you the opportunity to practice the craft and receive personal feedback. Each two-hour online class will feature a brief lecture, writing exercises, discussion with your instructor and fellow students, and a homework assignment. Between classes, you’ll receive personal notes from your instructor on the sketch you write as homework, which you’ll have the opportunity to discuss in the next online session. 

This class offers distinct content from our in-person eight-week sketch classes and is appropriate for all levels of experience in sketch writing. 

Arcade is looking forward to offering this new class format as an opportunity to both have a creative outlet for everyone at home right now, and also explore it as an ongoing option for comedy education.
As this is Arcade’s first online class, we’re offering it at the premier rate of $60. Furthermore, in consideration of the economic hardship many are facing during this time, we are offering tiered pricing:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Participants will need access to a computer with a stable internet connection. Video capability is preferred, but audio only is acceptable. Google Drive and Google Hangouts will be used for lessons and document sharing so a Google (gmail) account is recommended.

Arcade Comedy Theater classes are open to adults 18 yrs or older.

Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you sign up for a class and are unable to attend, please contact us in advance and we may be able to switch your enrollment to a different eligible class. Students looking to enroll in advanced classes (102 & higher) must be able to meet the prerequisites.
