When they're not remixing the likes of Example, Tinie Tempah and Avicii, or hosting BBC 1Xtra's D&B mix show - DC Breaks are busy making Dance floors the world over quake in fear. Their subwoofer-worrying, rib-rattling approach to writing drum & bass with a melodic spin has earned them a position as true leaders in the genre. All made the more potent as they prepare to unleash another immense release on the Ram Records imprint.

With an enviable discography already firmly in the D+B history books their latest addition of the 'Firez' EP embraces all aspects of the D&B genre, pulling in influences from across the board while showcasing the instantly recognisable DC Breaks' signature sound with a title track that boasts a simple but infectiously cascading synth hook filling that main room gap between Swedish House Mafia and M83 but with all to rousing intricacies of that trade mark DC drum programming. As with everything this duo do there is always a flip side and this release soon finds their second home as it heads into even harder, darker territory - an advance lesson in how bass can damage your health for the better. Quite simply one of their finest productions to date and collectively one you are undoubtedly going to hear battered by the D&B and Bass elite in clubs this spring and festivals throughout the summer.

It all started with Ram Records back in 2005 signing several tracks to Frequency Recordings (The label founded by one of the leading Producer DJ's in the Drum & Bass scene Andy C). This steady stream of releases helped cement the act's profile as both supreme DJs and future leaders of the scene. 2009 saw the release of 'Pickett Line', one of their biggest tracks to date, which received swathes of Radio One support across all the specialists with Radio One's Pete Tong citing it as 'My favorite Drum & Bass tunes of the year' - 'Flashback' picked up the gauntlet and settled into the Radio One 'Hottest Records' Podcast for the entire Summer of 2009 firmly putting DC Breaks on the radar. Fast forward to 2010 and the year kicked off in fine style, with their 'Halo EP' released on Viper Recordings and championed by every specialist show at Radio One matched with a selection interviews and revered guest mix features behind the hollowed decks of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra's. Annie Mac tagged them 'ones to watch for 2010' and MistaJam called them 'the Hottest Production team out there right now'. 2010 culminated with DC Breaks signing an exclusive deal with Ram, and their first single, 'The More I Want / Take That' hit the stores in April 2011 again gaining full support across Radio and Club - debuting at No.1 in the Beatport, Juno and Trackitdown charts. A major part of Dan and Chris's longevity in the scene is equated to their dedicated fanbase and the following release of 'Creeper/Horror' was aimed squarely at the heads and not daytime radio - and this was rewarded with support from every key player in the scene supporting this release hard to round off a killer 2011. The combination of DC Breaks' unique gutsy, melodic sound with a label that has already shown enough skills to launch Chase & Status and Subfocus, 2012 is ear marked by both as THE year of DC Breaks.

Unleashing their anthemic basslines on dancefloors from London to LA, the duo have also brought big hype to the scene from their brilliant reworks of many of todays biggest pop acts including Tinie Tempah, Rox, Example, I Blame Coco and even JLS which found its way into the weekly track list of Zane Lowe's Radio One show where he declared 'There is no way on earth I would be playing a JLS record if it wasn't for DC Breaks'. The ability to produce acts on this level and create productions that turn these pop acts into Bass heavy hero's is a true talent in itself and one that DC Bs do with one ear in the commercial market and their feet firmly in the underground to deliver a non-compromised sound where ever it lands.

It would seem incredible with the enviable studio output this duo have that there is any time to tour, but this is by far the biggest part of what this act do and they have spent years crafting their unique live performance seducing crowds in clubs and festivals around the world, DJ-ing across 6 decks and two mixers, everything you hear in their productions is magnified when they set the dancefloor alight leaving fans all voting unanimously with both arms raised.
