Event Description

(1994) dir Krzysztof Kieślowski w/Irène Jacob, Jean‑Louis Trintignant [99 min; 35mm]

2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s BLUE and, to celebrate, the Brattle is offering this rare chance to view all three parts of his “Trois Couleurs” Trilogy on the big screen in 35mm. This remarkable masterpiece addresses the three aspects of the French flag – Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity – and casts each in its own color. In BLUE, a woman (Binoche) grapples with her sudden and tragic liberty. In WHITE, a smitten man (Zamachowski) tries to find equality with his vivacious ex-wife (Delpy). And in RED, a model (Jacob) finds unexpected fraternity not only with her cynical neighbor (Trintignant) but also with the characters from the other films.

A "Double Feature" ticket additionally allows admission into the 5:00 PM screening of BLUE. No additional purchase is necessary.

A "Triple Feature" ticket additionally allows admission into the 5:00 PM screening of BLUE and 7:00 PM screening of WHITE. No additional purchase is necessary.
