PrideCon Long Island LGBT Bar Crawl HUNTINGTON

June is LGBT pride month. The month of June was chosen for LGBT pride month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world. That being said, we're hosting the biggest LGBT pride bar crawl on Long Island...PrideCon Long Island LGBT Pride Bar Crawl...set for Saturday, June 23rd, 2018

Come out to show your LGBT pride and support for the LGBT Network. We are working to make PrideCon Long Island the biggest LGBT pride bar crawl ever with fun prizes and contests, all while helping to stop the spread of HIV, provide support during coming out and times of crisis, and prevents suicide through its broad range of outreach, education, support, and health programs.

DETAILS:

PrideCon Long Island LGBT Pride Bar Crawl will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 12PM in Huntington at the villages best bars and eateries to raise money for the LGBT Network to stop the spread of HIV, provide support during coming out and times of crisis, and prevents suicide through its broad range of outreach, education, support, and health programs. With your official PrideCon Long Island wristband you will receive food and drink specials all day at all participating locations.

ALL PrideCon Long Island attendees are asked to dress in LGBT pride attire, either individually or in teams, so that Huntington will be filled with LGBT pride! 

ALL PrideCon Long Island attendees must have a wristband to receive food and drink specials all day. Tickets for wristbands can be purchased in advanced online or the day of the bar crawl at the registration point. 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

1. Purchase your ticket in advanced or the day of
   


2. Dress up in your favorite LGBT pride costume


3. Get your wristband at the registration point when you present your ticket


4. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram at PrideCon.Long.Island for alerts and updates


5. Eat, Drink, Spread LOVE and CHEERS!

TICKETS:

Tickets are available with limited $20 tickets, limited $25 tickets, and $30 the week leading to and the day of the bar crawl. Advance ticket purchase is suggested. However you may also purchase a ticket at the registration point. Your ticket will score you the official PrideCon Long Island wristband allowing you access to awesome food & drink specials at all of the bars, all day. A portion of the proceeds from the bar crawl goes to the LGBT Network to help stop the spread of HIV, provide support during coming out and times of crisis, and prevents suicide through its broad range of outreach, education, support, and health programs. PrideCon Long Island LGBT Pride Bar Crawl is for attendees 21 years and older. 

WRISTBANDS:

PLEASE make sure you check in at the registration point by presenting your ticket/receipt to get your PrideCon Long Island wristband. There will be more than one line to get attendees their wristbands as soon as possible. Any excessive intoxication or rowdy behavior will result in the cutting off of your wristband. Participating locations have the right to refuse entry.

Your wristband will get you:

• Entry into all participating bars (granted capacity has not been reached)


• Food and drink specials from 1:00PM to 5:00PM


• Admission to the PrideCon Long Island after party from 5:00PM to 9:00PM

FOOD AND DRINK SPECIALS:

 Feel free to create your own route or follow ours! All specials will be offered at all bars from 1:00PM to 5:00PM with specials continuing at the after party from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Some bars may end their specials early and some may extend their specials past 5:00PM

COSTUME CONTEST:

We want to see your creative costumes! To participate in the PrideCon Long Island costume contest, register your name and costume at the registration point or at the after party. Anyone entering the contest must be present at the official after party to showcase your costume and announce the winner!

OFFICAL AFTER PARTY:

The fun doesn't stop after the bar crawl! Join us for the official after party from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. There will be drink specials, a live band, a DJ, a special performance, charity introduction, costume contest winner selection and more!

LGBT NETWORK:

The LGBT Network is an association of non-profit organizations working to serve the LGBT community of Long Island and Queens throughout the lifespan: Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island LGBT Community Center (The Center), Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders – Long Island (SAGE-LI), and the Queens LGBT Community Center (Q Center).

LIGALY is the original organization of The Network as it was founded in 1993 and is nationally known for its work with LGBT youth in the areas of education, advocacy, youth leadership and development and support. The Center and SAGE-LI along with the Network was founded in 2005 to unite these non-profits to help more LGBT people across the lifespan and create a cost efficient way of serving the Long Island LGBT Community.

With shared administrative staff between all organizations, this structure eliminates duplication of administrative and executive staff thereby allowing each organization of The Network to share resources. This unique model reduces overhead costs and expenses and as a result more than 80 cents of every dollar raised are channeled directly into critical programs and services for Long Islanders of all ages and walks of life.

Together, each organization works within The Network to end homophobia and transphobia, to provide a home and safe space for the LGBT community, and to advocate for equality.  

Since 2012, The Network also produces the annual Pride Parade and PrideFest celebration every June and Living Out magazine each month. Both Pride and Living Out build community and celebrate our identities while also providing visibility to our movement.

PrideCon Long Island LGBT Pride Bar Crawl is a community event and encourages responsible drinking by attendees. DON'T DRINK and DRIVE! Assign a designated driver at the beginning of the day or use public transportation. 

GETTING TO HUNTINGTON:

Take the LIRR using the Huntington line getting off at the Huntington stop...the village is a short cab ride from there.
