Event Description

The 5th Annual Pride Film Festival kicks off at 12 noon with reel after reel of thought provoking, entertaining LGBTQ+ feature and short films AND the people who made them!  This year we are proud to welcome 3 sets of film makers to answer questions following their presentations.  It's an event you do not want to miss!

The festival's first block is at noon, begining with a baker's half dozen of short films, including Queen's Mile, We Could Be Parents, Talking to My Mother, Pride Fighter, Spunkle, Cecil and Carl, and Lightning Bugs in a Jar.

The 2 o'clock block has a short film, Mukwano, followed by the feature AWOL.

At 4, the short film 30 Days to Say Goodbye screens before our first documentary, Small Town Rage.  The makers of Small Town Rage will be in the theatre to talk about the film and answer questions from the audience.

At 6 pm, Pride is proud to present a film with an Aggie slant, albeit a sad one.  Aggie Paul Broussard was murdered while in  Houston, and a man was sentenced for the crime..but that's not the end of the story.  Director Alison J Armstrong will here to discuss how she came to make THE GUY WITH THE KNIFE.  It's a tale of justice you won't want to miss!!

Our film festival wraps up with the 8 pm showing of REAL BOY...a story of living one's authentic life. Bennett Wallace's life changing transition from female to male is told with honesty and compassion.  We are pleased to welcome Bennett to College Station to join us for this amazing movie.

It's an all day celebration of LGBTQ films that you won't want to miss!
