Event Description

Tania León is composer in residence for the 2021–22 season. A major personality on today’s music scene, León is highly regarded as a composer and conductor, and for her accomplishments as an educator and advisor to arts organizations. León’s orchestral work Stride, commissioned by the New York Philharmonic in celebration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, was awarded the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in Music. Fellow Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Reid says, “Tania has a way of weaving together so many musical traditions with such joy. She’s just such a wonderful ambassador for music, and her love is infectious.”

As part of her year-long residency at Curtis, Ensemble 20/21 presents a portrait concert of Ms. León’s most beloved and impactful works.
