Play Like A Girl: Julissa Rodríguez

Play Like A Girl, a music series, curated and hosted by Hartford-based Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Charmagne Glass-Tripp, examines the compelling personal stories about the successes, challenges and triumphs of being a musical artist.

Second up in the series is Julissa Rodríguez, a proud Queer Boricua! An educator, musician, workshop facilitator, keynote speaker, visual and performing artist whose free expression through percussion, poetry, theatre and dance, is meant to honor our ancestors, promote social justice, health and healing, and elevate our youth. Julissa is a graduate of Trinity College, a member of MALCS (Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social), Real Live Theatre Company, Enchanted Circle Theatre and an associate artist with Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble. Their/her passion for the arts and social justice has taken them/her around the country and across the globe.

Play Like A Girl is a streamed online event. It premieres on Thurs., Nov. 19 at 7:30 pm and will be made available on-demand to ticket holders until the end of the year.
