The Pittsburgh Doo-Wop Big Band Returns to The Oaks Theater
Pittsburgh Doo-Wop Big Band
Under the direction of RICHARD MANSFIELD (the original musical director, arranger and conductor of the "American Soundtrack Series," on PBS) the band's repertoire spans the decades through the '50s, '60s & '70s featuring favorite Doo Wop & R&B hits such as “Hushabye”, “Love Won’t Let Me Wait”, “Since I Fell For You”, “Spanish Harlem”, “What’s Your Name”, “The Chiffon’s”, “Tell Mama”, “At Last”, and many more!
All arrangements are by Richard Mansfield. Featuring Doo Wop stylist BILL REICHERT. Bill has performed with the “Mystics” (Hushabye) and Vito Balsamo of “Vito and The Salutations” (Gloria &Unchained Melody). He also was lead singer of “The Dedications” for 12 years and Pittsburgh’s own “The Holidays” for 6 years. He currently performs with “The DooWop Shoppe” and “The Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band & Tuesday Night Big Band”.
Pittsburgh native LAURA ROZDAY was first introduced to the microphone in her father’s home studio as a child. It was here that she first discovered the golden oldies. Raised on Doo Wop, Motown, and R&B, Laura has honed her vocal talents becoming a soul powerhouse. "Laura Rose" Rozday charted locally produced singles ("Kansas City", "I Want a Man Who Can Dance With Me") featuring Pittsburgh's own William Dell and the Wee Jams on the beach music scene in the Carolinas. Here at home she continues to enjoy performing locally with the Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band where she shares her passion for music with the fabulous oldies fans of the 'Burgh.
