Passport to Wine featuring the United States

Join us on Friday, February 19th at the University Club at the University of Pittsburgh for a tasting, presentation and discussion of the incredible wines of the United States of America!

American wine has been produced for over 300 years. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 89 percent of all US wine. The United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world.

This tasting will feature 6 different wines, covering different styles, varietals & regions. There will be a presentation given by Cory Hart of Winebow that will cover the history, grapes and regions of our beloved United States of America in an approachable and casual format.

There will also be a wonderful dish provided by the talented University Club culinary staff that will complement and highlight the wines. Our chef's choice is an Herb Rubbed Beef Tenderloin with Wild Mushroom Ragout, Anson Mills Polenta, Roasted Beets and Brussel Sprouts drizzled with a Rock & Vine Cabernet reduction.If you have any dietary restrictions/allergies, please contact mearle@pc.pitt.edu after making your reservation.

This event will take place in the stunning Grand Ballroom of the University Club in the heart of the University of Pittsburgh campus in Oakland. Seating will be at shared tables of 6-8 – make sure to emailmearle@pc.pitt.edu if there is another guest who has made a separate reservation that you would like to sit with. We will also do our best to accommodate larger groups.
