Unlike BARFLY, everything in 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE seems awash in color. Steve Coogan plays the pathologically irrepressible Tony Wilson: journalist, alt-rock mogul, nightclub impresario, hustler, dreamer, and consummate self-aggrandizer. Wilson, along with a cadre of insanely creative (and sometimes just insane) artists and musicians, was partly responsible for bringing acts like Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, and The Happy Mondays to the attention of the world in the 1980s and ‘90s.
