Pamela Z: Simultaneous

As the culmination of her 2023 MoMA Residency, Pamela Z will premiere Simultaneous, an intermedia composition for voice, electronic processing, chamber ensemble (oboe, English horn, viola, cello, and percussion), speech samples, gesture control, and projected video. The piece is partially composed of speech fragments taken from recorded interviews with friends and collaborators and is woven together with Pamela Z’s own vocalizations and found sounds.

Thu, August 3rd at 8pm
Sat, August 5th at 8pm
Sunday, August 6th at 3pm - Followed by conversation between the artist and Martha Joseph, The Phyllis Ann and Walter Borten Assistant Curator of Media and Performance.


Please note that tickets for the Sunday, August 6 performance are free with museum admission, but advance reservation is required.
